Title: Rate laws and mechanisms discovery within cells

Abstract: The development of new instrumentation in cell biology and biochemistry has dramatically extended enzymology. Now we can examine biochemical reactions and mechanisms in living cell.

We will present a new method based on global non-linear modeling, which combines our understanding of the fundamental mechanisms underlying biochemistry with information from the time course data. We demonstrate the utility of our method in predicting the mechanism of enzyme-catalysed reactions, and successful prediction of the biochemical steps of sugar metabolism in a bacterium.
