The I571 main project is designed to let you tackle in some depth an area of chemical informatics. I have listed projects with a variety of styles below. Try to pick a topic that you’ll enjoy doing, and that will expand your knowledge of a subject that interests you. If you have a project idea of your own, send me an email with a brief overview of your idea, and I’ll likely be happy for you to do that as a project. I expect all project reports, etc. to be submitted to me by email by Wed, December 5th.

[edit] Development & organization of free cheminformatics education resource
We have begun to create a free online resource for cheminformatics education. This project will involve working with me to develop this further, including gathering and linking to material on other websites
[edit] Implementation of workflows in Pipeline Pilot
Create Pipeline Pilot web service wrappers to some of our web services here at Indiana (see http://www.chembiogrid.org) and create some workflows that use these services
[edit] Integration of Software Packages to Extract Chemical Information
Make an application that integrates two or more chemoinformatics software packages or algorithms in an innovative way. You might wish to use a web service / workflow infrastructure for this
[edit] Literature review of an area of cheminformatics
Write a short review article on an area of cheminformatics that interests you particularly, or that is relevant to your work
[edit] Youtube video introducing cheminformatics
Create a reasonably professionally-edited YouTube video on designed for people who are not familiar with the field, to answer the question "what is cheminformatics?"
